Let’s talk about your lymphatic system and how to keep it open and flowing!

The lymphatic system is a major circulatory system in the body that plays a crucial role in immune function.

However, it has received far less attention than the blood-vascular system. A poorly functioning lymphatic system is associated with the development of chronic diseases.

The following are ten detoxification strategies to improve the health of your lymphatic system:

  1. Exercise regularly: Exercising daily is one of the easiest and most effective ways to boost the health of your lymphatic system. Exercise stimulates blood circulation and the transportation of oxygen to tissues and cells. 🏋️‍♀️
  2. Use stress reduction techniques: Techniques such as yoga, Pilates, deep breathing exercises, and stretching can relieve congestion and stimulate the circulation and detoxification of lymph throughout the body. 🧘‍♀️
  3. Maintain good posture: Good posture helps prevent the lymph from becoming stagnant in extremities, which can lead to a buildup of pathogenic substances, inflammatory markers, and cellular debris.
  4. Eat a healthy diet: A healthy diet that includes organic fruits, vegetables, and fiber helps eliminate toxins from the body and promotes the health of the lymphatic system. 🍎
  5. Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps flush toxins from the body and promotes the healthy flow of lymph. The rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily. Add a little lemon to help flush toxins from the body and promote the healthy lymph flow. 🚰🍋
  6. Practice dry brushing: Dry brushing helps stimulate lymphatic flow and removes dead skin cells, which can clog the lymphatic system.
  7. Take contrast showers: Contrast showers, alternating between hot and cold water, help stimulate blood and lymphatic circulation.
  8. Use essential oils: Essential oils such as ginger, lemon, and grapefruit help stimulate lymphatic circulation and promote detoxification.
  9. Get enough sleep: Getting enough restful sleep is essential for properly functioning the lymphatic system. 😴
  10. Practice rebounding: Rebounding, or jumping on a trampoline, promotes lymph flow through the body and is believed to increase the drainage of toxins from organs and muscle tissue.
  11. BONUS Tip! Endermologie: You may have heard of Patricia’s Endermologie Device, or never heard of this technique, but I can attest to its effectiveness! Most Saturday mornings, my husband and I work with Patricia Garrison for Endermologie treatments to detox our lymphatic systems. This machine is awesome and uses vibration, rollers and suction during the massage to focus on moving the lymphatic system. You can learn more about this incredible therapy at Patricia’s website HERE
