Lyme Disease isn’t just from a tick bite anymore and is extremely common — growing to be more prevalent every day. The CDC reports that about 300,000 people are diagnosed with Lyme in the US each year! There are likely many more as most people are misdiagnosed several times before being diagnosed properly with Lyme disease symptoms.
What Causes Lyme Disease
Lyme is caused by a spiral-shaped bacteria called Borrelia Burgdorferi. It’s usually transmitted by the bite of infected blacklegged ticks, but not always. For example, Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt found that Lyme can be spread by fleas, mites, and spiders.
This bacteria has 3 phases. In the first phase, it uses its spiral shape like a drill to burrow deep into tissues, joints and organs.
In the 2nd phase, the bacteria can slip into the blood due to having no cell wall (which also makes it difficult for your immune system AND antibiotics to be effective).
The 3rd phase is the cyst phase. This is the bacteria’s response to being attacked by antibiotics or home remedies that aren’t working. The bacteria creates a cocoon around itself so it’s protected against attackers.
If Lyme reaches this stage, there are ways to bring the bacteria out from their cysts, and that’s when it will become responsive to proper treatment.
Lyme Disease Symptoms
Lyme disease has been called The Great Imitator because it can take so many forms and express itself in the body in so many ways.
This plus the fact that not every affected person will have the well-known “bullseye” rash, and a lot of the time it begins with flu-like symptoms, leads to a high number of misdiagnoses — especially if people don’t notice a tick bite.
According to the CDC, “Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, and the nervous system.”
If left untreated, those affected can develop a chronic condition. Late-stage Lyme disease can cause a range of symptoms like meningitis, impaired muscle movement, memory loss, difficulty concentrating, changes in mood, heart problems, eye inflammation, Bell’s palsy, and hepatitis.
My Journey with Lyme Disease
My exploration into Emotional Root Causes of disease was sparked by Lyme disease.
In April 2003, my health went downhill suddenly and quickly. I had been a strong athlete all my life, and almost overnight I began to feel debilitated. I could barely function, there was rash all over my body, I could hardly breathe, sleep was impossible and I was having seizure-like episodes. The doctors told me that there was nothing wrong with me and that it was all in my head. (I’m sure some reading this can relate!)
I eventually learned that my Lyme disease symptoms were caused by an infection in my brain and nervous system. We had gone Chanterelle mushroom harvesting one day and I must have gotten bitten. My world began to crumble, and I could barely take care of my 4 year old son. I prayed for answers and slowly one piece at a time, my prayers were answered. The right people and tools started showing up in my life.
Little by little, using tools such as homeopathy, biofeedback, nutrition and detox protocols, I was able to heal myself. Lyme took its toll on my thyroid, adrenals, gut and nervous system, so I had to figure out how to heal myself. Which I did. I began to understand that there were layers and layers of issues which were negatively impacting my health — emotional root causes of my disease!
Emotional Root Causes of Lyme
Lyme occurs after a conflict of separation with your family or clan is resolved. Chronic lyme is a hanging healing where the person is in and out of the conflict of separation with their perceived family/clan.
Either real, imaginary or virtual trauma sets us up for disease and it’s foundational to resolve these traumas, on the brain, so the body can follow suit and finally heal.
When someone comes to me for help because they have Lyme, I know that there’s going to be an emotional trauma pattern underneath it. Once I know the diagnosis or symptoms, then I can backtrack, usually to childhood, and help them to unwind the original trauma which is triggering the disease.
Some of the tools I use are Recall Healing and German New Medicine techniques along with EVOX and SCIO biofeedback. I like to mix and match based upon what patterns are found within each individual.
Complete resolution of the original trauma(s) and supporting the body as it heals, is the way to permanently walk away from illness! It can be done. I’ve personally done it, and I’ve helped many people experience this true healing. There is hope.
